Exhibitors, demonstrate your product capabilities LIVE on the show floor at AUVSI’s Unmanned Systems North America 2012.
Dedicated arenas for small air, ground and maritime unmanned systems allow exhibitors to operate their systems in a safe, controlled environment using an array of equipment to demonstrate the agility and functionality of a wide range of vehicles.
Sign up now to reserve a demo area.
Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Demonstration Area
The aerial demonstration area is confined with netting and is approximately 40’w x 50’l x 25'h. It will include agility equipment available for small UAS to perform live testing. Additionally, there will be “open airspace” from 10' to 25' in the demo area for free flight. Available equipment for use includes:
• Launch pad • Recovery/helo pad • A door (can be opened or closed) • A window (can be opened or closed) • An elevated tunnel • A fan (on/off is option) • An elevated platform/perch • A series of small columns/polls • A small corridor ending at a wall |
|
Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) Demonstration AreaThe ground demonstration area has been designed to provide exhibitors with a large area to demonstrate the widest range of capabilities possible. The area itself is approximately 50’ x 50’ and will have agility equipment available to test and showcase sensors, manipulation, traction, navigation, autonomy. Available equipment for use includes:
• Gravel pit • Sand pit • Stairs • Ramps with multiple surface coatings and inclines • Tunnels of various sizes (diameters and length) • A series of small columns/polls • A small clear field for very small systems/presentations |
 |
Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) Demonstration AreaThe water tank is intended for underwater vehicles to operate in a live environment and is approximately 25’ l x 8’w x 6’h. Although the tank has some limitations in size and the top of the tank is supported by beams which limit the clearance for any vehicles operating on the surface of the water, exhibitors will be able to test systems in navigation, sensors and autonomy. If more than 1.5’ of clearance is required please contact David Klein (klein@auvsi.org) for more information.

Operational Constraints- Electric and/or battery-operated vehicles only. - Emergency-stop equipped and enabled. - Must be operated by exhibitor. - Areas are located in the exhibit hall therefore communications management (wireless networks and radios) are the responsibility of the exhibitor. Dedicated frequencies, time, or space will not be provided. GPS is not guaranteed.
Additional Considerations
- Level of autonomy is determined by operator. - If vehicle can safely operate at higher levels of autonomy within field boundaries, then operator oversight is acceptable. - Operating speeds are determined by size of demo field. - Multiple vehicles can be demonstrated on a field at the same time as part of a single reservation.
Reserving a Demonstration Time
Demonstrations are only available to exhibiting companies (sharer companies not included). Time slots are 45-minutes. “Prime” slots are reserved for Diamond and Platinum Corporate Members of AUVSI. If you have any further questions please contact David Klein at klein@auvsi.org or +1 310 623 0123.
