    NIITEK AWARDED $7.3M GPR TECHNOLOGY CONTRACT BY U.S. ARMY

     

    NIITEK, Inc. (“NIITEK®”), a subsidiary of Chemring Sensors & Electronics Systems (CSES), part of Chemring Group PLC (“Chemring”), was awarded a $7,347,924 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract with options, to develop enhanced downward-looking Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) technology for real-time detection of buried high and low metal anti-tank landmines and improvised explosive devices.  Work will be performed in Dulles, Virginia, with an estimated completion date of June 11, 2018.  Fiscal 2014 research, development, testing and evaluation funds in the amount of $3,272,048 are being obligated at the time of the award.  Army Contracting Command, Alexandria, Virginia, is the contracting activity (W909MY-14-C-0021).

    US ARMY AWARDS $26.12M HMDS DEVELOPMENT CONTRACT TO NIITEK

     

    NIITEK, Inc. (“NIITEK®”), a subsidiary of Chemring Sensors & Electronics Systems (CSES), part of Chemring Group PLC (“Chemring”), has secured a $26.12 million cost-plus-fixed-fee contract from the US Army Contracting Command (ACC) for the development of Husky Mounted Detection System (HMDS).

     

    The contract involves 21-month engineering and manufacturing development (EMD) base period with a 15-month low-rate initial production (LRIP) option.

     

    The HMDS will provide ground penetrating radar, deep buried detection, and marking capabilities, installed on the Husky, which enables the detection of underbelly-attack explosive hazards during route clearance missions.

     

    Work under the contract will be undertaken at the company's facility in Dulles, Virginia.

     

    This US$26.12 million contract has been awarded in June 2014 and is expected to be completed in June 2017.
