The three entities of Japan UAS Industrial Development Association (JUIDA), which aims to promote and popularize the Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) industry in Japan, Congress Corporation, a convention organizer that provided comprehensive services for the 2012 Annual Meetings of the IMF and World Bank in Tokyo, and Space Media Japan Co., Ltd., a Congress Group company specializing in managing exhibitions, will hold an international exhibition and convention, Japan Drone 2016, at Makuhari Messe for three days from Thursday, March 24 to Saturday, March 26, 2016. This will be the first full-scale international exhibition and conference on the promotion of drones and services using drones, which are expected to grow in the near future.
This event aims for the healthy development and market expansion of the commercial drone (UAS) industry in Japan, and to provide an opportunity for discussion on the “creation of safety rules for drones.” Planning underway for this event includes an international exhibition comprised of exhibitors from Japan and abroad, an international conference featuring key individuals from Japan and overseas, and flight demonstrations by the exhibitors and others. After holding this first event in 2016, the intent is to conduct the event each year with the goal of contributing to the expansion of the drone market starting with Japan.
This event will be characterized by the following five aspects: (1) It will be the first full-scale event in Japan targeting the drone market; (2) It will be an opportunity to widely share Japan’s drone technologies with the world; (3) The event and seminars will encourage the creation of shared rules regarding the safe operation and use of drones; (4) Participants can gain hands-on experience with flight demonstrations, etc.; (5) It offers practical business opportunities in the drone industry, which is composed of numerous start-up companies. The host organizations are working as one to the best of their abilities to implement this event so that these characteristics are fully demonstrated.
