    New Mexico Legislative Updates

    Multi-Million Dollar NM Job Creation Fund

    Governor Susana Martinez and the New Mexico Legislature recently dedicated $37.5 million to the state's Job Creation Fund or 'closing fund.' The balance of the $10 million currently in the fund also was reauthorized and what's left on July 1 will be rolled over for use through 2016.

     

    City’s $10 Million Job Creation Fund

    Mayor Richard J. Berry and City Council approved $10 million for a Job Creation Fund, which can be used toward qualifying projects for companies expanding to or within Albuquerque.

     

    Economic Development Utility Rate

    Electric utilities in New Mexico can now offer an economic development rate for companies considering expanding in the state.

  • Roswell Industrial Air Center (RIAC)The Roswell Industrial Air Center features 5,000 acres and a 13,000 ft runway. There are currently four large-scale MRO and Aircraft painting facilities located on the Air Center. In addition, there is 500,000 sq. ft. of commercial and 160,000 sq.ft. of FBO hangars. The Air Center also has the capacity to store up to 800 aircraft on site. 

    Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell (ENMU-R) currently offers an Associate of Science degree for professional pilot training of Fixed-Wing Aircraft.  The March 27, 2015 FAA granting of a commercial 333 exemption (the only one in New Mexico) to the Roswell UAS Coalition—The City of Roswell, The City of Artesia, Chaves County, Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell, and the New Mexico Military Institute—allows ENMU-R the opportunity to offer an Associate of Applied Science degree for professional pilot training of Unmanned Aerial Systems as well as a Certificate of Occupational Training in Professional Pilot Training Unmanned Aerial Systems starting in the Fall of 2015

    Osprey View, LLC Selects Silent Falcon UAS Technologies to Supply Multi Sensor

    Equipped Unmanned Aircraft Systems

     

    Albuquerque, NM – May 4, 2015

     

    Silent Falcon UAS Technologies (SFUAS) is pleased to announce that it has been selected by

    Osprey View LLC to provide its Silent Falcon™ unmanned aircraft systems. Osprey View will be

    using these systems for a variety of missions and applications for its customers in mining,

    mapping and aerial surveillance. The systems will be capable of carrying a number of different

    sensors including a GPS integrated high resolution mapping payload; a SWIR spectrometer, and a

    high definition electro-optical and infrared video camera payload. As part of the contract, SFUAS

    is providing sensor engineering and development services, field support services and an extensive

    spare parts inventory.

     

    Osprey View will be deploying these systems to provide aerial mining surveys, aerial mapping

    surveys and surveillance services to Osprey View’s customers in a variety of countries

    worldwide, with an initial focus on its customers in Africa. Osprey View provides a variety of

    geospatial, environmental, mining, surveillance and other commercial services using Silent

    Falcon™ and other unmanned aircraft.
